Plumb Club Forum to Examine Changing Landscape of the Jewelry Industry
February 20, 08The Plumb Club will hold a forum March 2-3 to discuss, among others, the topics of consumer behavior, gold pricing and Internet retailing, and will cater to a range of retailers – from national and regional chains, to independents. One of the most important sessions of the forum will be one entitled “How Well Do You Know Your Customer?“
Using an Audience Response System, attendees to “The Changing Landscape of the Jewelry Industry” forum will be able to experience in real-time the difference between how they perceive their customers’ attitudes and the actual research results.
Sir Ken Robinson, an internationally recognized expert in the field of creativity will present an address on unlocking creativity within a company, specifically, with its employees.
In addition, the World Gold Council’s manager of investment and market intelligence, George Milling-Stanley, will moderate a panel of gold experts from GFMS Ltd and Scotia Capital. They will discuss the factors impacting daily gold pricing and the potential upsides and downsides that retailers should anticipate.
The forum will also feature a panel discussion on “Retailing in the Age of Web 2.0,” which will include some of the pioneers in Internet marketing, including Steve Larkin, senior VP of E-Commerce at Zale Corp.; Brian McDevitt, team manager retail, Google, Inc.; Pinny Gniwisch, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Ice.com and Catherine Levene, COO of Daily Candy.
Scott Kirsner, a contributing writer for Fast Company and Wired magazines, will moderate the panel.
