AWDC Secures Membership in WFDB Mark Associate Member Program

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has taken out membership in the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) Mark Associate Member program and has made a substantial contribution to the program.

Industry organizations and diamond and gem industry service providers have the opportunity to participate in the WFDB Mark Associate Member program; the WFDB mark itself is a consumer confidence mark carried by diamantaires who are members of one of the 26 bourses affiliated with the WFDB.

AWDC CEO Freddy Hanard commented in a letter to WFDB Secretary General Michael Vaughn that the importance of the WFDB Mark lies in its role of enhancing the reputation of the diamond business community at large.

“More than ever, diamond buyers need not only to buy diamonds from reputable diamantaires but also need to be offered proof and assurance of that reputation, in particular outside the bourses, down the polished diamond supply pipeline. The WFDB Mark is the symbol that represents those guarantees.”
