HRD Launches Dubai Service, Shortens Turnaround Time

HRD Antwerp, the commercial arm of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, said on Thursday it had launched a Dubai drop off service. 

HRD’s logistical partners in the new drop off service are Malca Amit in Antwerp and Transguard in Dubai, HRD said in a statement.

The service offers members of the Dubai diamond sector direct access to the HRD Antwerp Diamond Lab as diamonds are picked up in Dubai by Transguard’s couriers at the clients’ offices and are returned to the clients with their certificates after grading in Antwerp.

In a separate statement, HRD said it had further reduced turnaround times for clients who ask directly for a complete certificate. In a notice to clients dated August 28, HRD established a turnaround time of 7 working days for certifying 9.99 ct and below and 6 working days to certify 10 ct and over.

HRD is also offering a ‘transit’ service for color checks. When clients get their results after three to four working days, they have the option to request additional checks for clarity, or certification. Each additional check would then take an additional three to four working days, HRD said.

HRD Antwerp also operates drop off services in Israel, Hong Kong and Mumbai.
