The Israeli Diamond Industry at Macau Jewelry and Watch Fair (Updated)
January 05, 09The Israeli Diamond Industry is planning a significant presence at the Macau Jewellery & Watch Fair, according to The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI).
About 30 Israeli diamond companies are planning to attend the show, about 10 within the Israel Diamond Pavilion.
The exhibition, being held for the second time, will take place January 8-11, at the Cotai Strip Convention and Exhibition Center at the Venetian Macao Hotel.
The show is expected to attract Chinese buyers, and the Israeli participation in this show is due to the great interest of the Israeli Diamond Industry in the Chinese market, the IDI said.
The Israeli diamond industry is currently focusing on China and has taken steps to strengthen the ties between the Israeli and Chinese diamond industries. The IDI opened an office in Hong Kong and launched a web site in Chinese, geared to providing up to date information and news for the Chinese diamond and jewelry industry.
IDI has also expanded its participation in trade fairs in China to help form commercial ties between businesses in both countries.
According to Moti Ganz, IDI chairman and the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association president, “We greatly value our strategic partnership with the Chinese diamond industry. It underscores our belief in the huge potential of the Chinese market for diamonds and diamond jewelry. Through participation in the Macau Fair our companies are showing their commitment to developing business ties with this market.”
