A.Dalumi Diamonds Wins Exceptional Exporter Award
September 09, 09Israeli diamond manufacturer A.Dalumi has won the 2008 Exceptional Exporter Award from the Israeli ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor. This is the second year in a raw that a diamond company wins the award. Last year it was Yerushalmi Brothers.
In 2008, Dalumi became the third largest diamond exporter from Israel, after its exports grew 7.1 percent to $182 million. Dalumi is the only firm among the top five Israeli diamond exporters that increased its exports in 2008.
The famiy owned company is a Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Sightholder since 1993.
Israel’s net diamond exports in 2008 were $10.72 billion. Of this, $6.24 billion were polished diamond exports and $4.48 billion rough diamond exports.
The recipients of the honor - nine companies in total, including hi-tech, chemical and consumer goods companies - will receive the award from President Shimon Peres at a ceremony at the President’s residence on December 7.
