Knockoff Sarin Planning Machines Found in India

The unnamed forger allegedly built the machines after reverse-engineering Sarin's widely used device and then sold them together with pirated copies of the company's Advisor rough planning software and DiaVision polished diamond measurement software, which is used with the machines.

After the company gathered more information, it filed a complaint with the local police.
“The broader issue is the protection of intellectual property in the diamond industry,” Caspi told IDEX Online. “Sarin invests a lot of money in developing revolutionary solutions and leading edge technologies, many protected by patents, trademarks, etc., and we intend to aggressively act to ensure these are enforced.”
Local police reported that a number of large companies bought the duplicated machines and pirated software. According to market sources, charges may also be brought against them.
