Royal Asscher Enlists Reena Ahluwalia to Design Jewelry Line

May 30, 10 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

Royal Asscher partnered with Canadian jewelry designer Reena Ahluwalia to complete Royal Asscher’s the Stars of Africa collection. She will design necklaces, pendants and earrings for the collection.

The Asscher family and Ahluwalia worked together to create five pieces of jewelry to complement the existing half-dome ring designs noted for their floating diamonds.

The jewelry consists of full-diamond-globes that are encircled by orbit-like elements. The full-globes spin on their axes symbolizing earth while the dazzling free-floating diamonds within it represent the shining spirit of her people. These orbits signify education, health-care and empowerment, essential components to the root of the Initiative- impacting people’s lives.

The designs, the company said in a release, were created to benefit the Star of Africa Initiative, Royal Asscher’s African focused fundraising program.

The new designs will debut at the JCK Las Vegas show later this week.

“The design of the jewelry continues the focus on hope, well-being and making an impactful contribution to tangible social changes within Africa,” the company said.

“As a jewelry designer, there is no greater motivation for me than to be able to contribute to positive social changes through my art and the ideas it spreads,” Ahluwalia said about her participation in the project.

Ahluwalia received numerous awards for her jewelry designs, one of which appeared on a post stamp in Belgium.
