Alrosa Sells $2.7B of Rough, Net Profit $300M

(IDEX Online News) - The Alrosa group of companies sold $2.67 billion worth of rough diamonds and $110.4 in polished during the first nine months of 2010. About 70 percent of the goods were exported.
The group mined $1.71 billion worth of diamonds in the January-September period, of this, $1.24 billion was mined by the parent company, according to a production and economic report presented at a board meeting.
Based on these figures, Alrosa’s markup is more than 60 percent. Its net profit for the period totaled 9.35 billion rubles ($298 million), the company reported.
