Murowa's Kristensen Appointed President, COO of Diavik

(IDEX Online News) – Niels Kristensen has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., operator of the Diavik diamond mine. Kristensen joins Diavik from the Murowa Diamond Mine in Zimbabwe where he was Managing Director.

Kristensen officially began as Diavik’s senior executive Tuesday, November 22.

With Rio Tinto since 1989, Kristensen is a chemical engineer with finance experience. His career includes various management positions with Rio Tinto operations in Australia, South Africa and London.

Kristensen joins Diavik as the planned transition to underground mining nears completion.
