The IDEX Online Polished Price Report for May 24, 2012
May 24, 12(IDEX Online News) – Polished prices were rather stable this week, partially due to very low levels of trading activities. The limited business is uncharacteristic for this time of the year, when traders usually roundup goods for the large JCK Las Vegas trade show.
A number of items that increased well last week continued to do so this week too, according to the IDEX Online Polished Diamond Price Report.
Rounds
- Prices of 0.23-0.29 ct VVS, G color goods continued to decline in the past week.
- Half carat D / IF goods lost 2.8%, making them an attractive purchase
- 0.70-0.79 KL / I2 goods are doing well, up 4.6% (K) and 5.3% (L)
- L / I2 items in 0.80-0.89 ct range continued to increase, up another 5%.
- 0.90-0.99 ct JK / I1 items are also continuing their upwards climb, up 4.4% (J) and 5% (K).
- 1.00-1.24 D / VVS2 lost 2.3%, while H / VVS2 gained 3.9%
- L / SI1 goods weighing 1.25-1.49 ct are down 2.9%
- 1.50-1.99 ct K / I1 +3%
- A reversal in the price trend of the 2.00-2.99 ct JKL / Pique items. I1 goods increased by 2.2%-3.1% and the JK / I2 goods +4.6-5.9%.
- 3 ct are down 3% in the E / VS2, G / VVS2 and M / SI1 items.
Fancy Cuts
- 0.30-0.39 D / SI2 +3.7% but G / VS1 lost 3%
- Many price increases of 2.0%-2.7% for 0.50-0.69 cts fancy cuts, specifically D / SI1, F / SI2 and I / VVS2.
- 0.70-0.79 IF items in GH colors are up by at least 3%
