Alrosa’s Production Slipping in Q1

(IDEX Online News) – Alrosa mined 8.1 million carats in the first quarter of the year, a 19 percent year-over-year decline in production. The company did not explain the decline or disclose revenues in the period.

The figure was disclosed in an Executive Committee meeting report.

The Executive Committee approved the medium-term development strategy for ALROSA’s projects in Africa and the development of the ALROSA Group cutting and polishing complex, slated for conclusion by 2021.

During that meeting, the diamond miner decided to form ALROSA Airline, a subsidiary aviation company.
