JFC Holds Annual Facets of Hope Event
June 19, 12(IDEX Online News) – As usual, one of the highlights of the recent Las Vegas tradeshow week was the annual Facets of Hope event supporting the industry’s primary charity, Jewelers for Children (JFC).
JFC announced that more than $2.5 million had been raised to support its charity partners in the year ahead. Since 1999, the industry has donated more than $40 million to help children in need.
“We are truly an industry with a heart and what we do through Jewelers for Children has no equal in any other industry,” said Peter Engel, JFC board chair. “We can walk with our heads high and our hearts full to know that we have made such a tremendous difference to those who need it most.”
Along with hearing about some of the youngsters that the industry has helped, the 1,600 industry guests present also recognized the work of Pamela Mortensen of JCPenney and Ruth Batson of the American Gem Society.
Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. JFC’s partners include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the National CASA Association. JFC also provides support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® International and the Santa-America Fund.
