The IDEX Online Polished Price Report for September 6, 2012
September 06, 12(IDEX Online News) – Small round cuts remain in good demand resulting in another week of price increases. Fancy Cuts, especially off-sizes and 2 carats, keep doing well, however, the number of items seeing price decreases widened this week.

Following are some of the changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report:
Rounds
- Continued strong demand for 0.18-0.22 cts, especially E-F / SI1 goods, which are up by another 3.1%-4.6%. IJ / VVS2 goods lost 3.7% and 5.0%
- 0.23-0.29 cts, H-J goods in mid clarities keep declining
- 0.30-0.39 cts, a few price decreases of ~2.5%
- 0.40-0.44 unchanged
- 0.45-0.49 cts, IF-SI softening
- 0.50-0.69 cts suffering from a few sporadic price losses
- 0.70-0.79 cts the number of price decreases is widening
- 0.90-0.99 cts H / I1 and M / SI1 are losing ground, while M / SI2 gained 4.8% this week, listing at $2,200 per carat (p/c)
- 1.00-1.24 cts goods are suffering from further price declines this week
- 1.25-1.49 cts, wide price declines
- 2 cts, F / VVS2, H / SI1, K / VS1 goods are slipping, but the rest of this key size is holding steady
- No price changes this week for 3 cts rounds
- 4 cts L / SI2 declined 2.7% to $10,700 p/c, the sole price decrease for this size
- 5 cts, J / SI1 down 2.9% to $16,800 p/c
Fancy Cuts
- No price changes this week for 0.18-0.22 cts
- 0.23-0.29, D / VVS1 lost 2.4% this week, listing at $2,000 p/c
- 0.30-0.39 cts, E / VS1 down 2.6% to $1,850 p/c
- 0.40-0.44 cts D / IF down another 1.6% to $3,150 p/c
- 0.45-0.49 cts is seeing a few price decreases and a few increase as well
- 0.50-0.69 cts D / I2 keeps declining, -3.6% to $1,350 p/c
- 0.70-0.79 cts remain in demand, specifically better colors in the mid-clarity ranges. I / I1-2 keep declining
- Many price increases among the 0.80-0.89 cts size goods. I / I1-2 slipping
- 0.90-0.99 cts I / I1 lost another 4.2% to $2,300 p/c, while several other goods in this size range, mainly VVS1, increased by ~3% this week.
- 1.00-1.24 cts, J / IF down 2.2% to $4,500 p/c, J / SI2 goods up 3.2% to $3,200 p/c
- 1.50-1.99 cts HI / SI2 are in good demand
- 2 cts goods are hot this week
- 3 cts H / VVS1 is up after the recent decreases
- 4 cts E / IF up by another 3% this week to $72,100 p/c. A few White color goods are slipping
- 5 cts H / VVS are moving up, VS2 slipping
