Diamond Market Beginning to Consolidate in the BDB

(IDEX Online News) – Business in the Mumbai diamond market is beginning to consolidate in the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) as more companies are moving their operations into the new center and away from South Mumbai's Opera House area.

Apart from the advantages of moving into a secure and modern environment such as the BDB, the Bandra-Kurla complex, where the bourse is located, offers a draw of its own.

When Pansuriya Impex made the move on November 18, company head Rajiv Pansuriya said the Complex is "the new nerve center of commerce in the financial capital of India with not only the diamond industry, but also several major corporate houses, banks and financial institutions having offices here.”

This is drawing more diamond businesses into the BDB premises. Sightholders KGK, Laxmi Diamond and Bhavani Gems as well as S. Narendra, Sur Gems and Vaibhav Gems have all announced they will make the move to the BDB on Wednesday, the festival of Dassera.
