(IDEX Online News) – More than 100 Israeli diamond companies have signed up to display and sell goods at the "U.S. Diamond Week," which is being held from March 17-20 at the Israeli Diamond Exchange (IDE).
The event is just one of several taking place next month aimed at providing a range of business opportunities for IDE members who will welcome buyers from across the world.
"The March 17-20 buyers' week is open to accredited diamond dealers from all over the world," said IDE president Yair Sahar.
Buyers will be offered complimentary hotel accommodation at the Leonardo Hotel, located opposite the Ramat Gan diamond exchange complex. The complimentary hotel accommodation is being provided courtesy of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI).
"The IDI and its chairman Moti Ganz have time and again shown just how deeply the IDI is committed to creating interest in and demand for Israel's diamond industry, and this is another wonderful example," said Sahar.
As well as the U.S. Diamond Week, March will also see a tender of diamonds of 10.8 carats and larger by Archos, the Israeli subsidiary of Russian miner Alrosa while De Beers' rough diamond-auction unit, Diamdel, will hold two auctions, one for rough diamonds larger than 5 carats, and one for rough of 2.5-4 carats.
I. Hennig & Co. Ltd. and Fusion Alternatives Tenders will hold a joint rough diamond tender, while eDiamond, a firm that tenders rough diamonds produced in Africa and Australia, will stage an online tender. In addition Tzoffey's 1818 will stage an exclusive auction for special loose diamonds and extraordinary diamond jewelry pieces.
