(IDEX Online News) – In what would be a ground-breaking development, the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) will work to bring a delegation of diamond buyers to the August 26-29 US/International Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE).
It would be the first time that buyers from a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel have visited the diamond exchange.
IDE President Yair Sahar and DDE Chairman Peter Meeus agreed that Meeus would aim to organize a delegation of diamond buyers from Dubai to take part in the buyer’s week event.
The two diamond exchange leaders agreed on the plan during the 9th Annual Meeting of the World Diamond Council held in Tel Aviv on May 5-6.
"The US/International Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange is open to buyers from all over the world, including diamantaires from Dubai," Sahar told Meeus.
The IDE decided to hold the second edition of the event following the success of the inaugural US/International Diamond Week held in March.
