JFC Announces Rings of Strength Tour
December 12, 13 (IDEX Online News) – Industry charity Jewelers for Children (JFC) has announced that it will hold two Rings of Strength events in 2014.
The biking, running and walking events will be held in Tucson and Las Vegas and money raised will be donated to JFC’s charity partners. The inaugural Rings of Strength event was held in Las Vegas in June.
The first event will be held during the new JCK Tucson Show, with the second taking place during JCK Las Vegas.
In Tucson, participants will wind through the property of the Marriott Starr Pass, where the show is taking place. In Las Vegas, participants can choose from a 50-kilometer bicycle ride in the foothills of the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area or walk or run 5 kilometers along the Strip.
"Building on the tremendous success of our inaugural event, we're very excited about the increased interest and potential to raise even more [money] in 2014, said Rebecca Foerster, a JFC board member who developed the concept. “There was such a sense of camaraderie among the participants and everyone was so excited about helping kids who really need it, we know the level of interest has grown exponentially and that the 2014 edition will be huge with two exciting events."
Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the US jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC has donated nearly $43 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse or neglect.
