Indian Polished Diamond Exports Slump 22% in November
December 16, 13Nonetheless, for the first fiscal year so far (April to November), India's polished diamond exports have jumped 28.8 percent to $13.6 billion.
Imports of polished goods soared 23.7 percent to $392.0 million in November, and by 56.4 percent to $4.36 billion in the April-to-November period.
Meanwhile, rough diamond imports surged 26 percent higher year on year to $1.14 billion in November, and for the April-November period have shown an increase of 15.3 percent to $9.79 billion.
Exports of rough diamonds dropped by 28 percent to $79.4 million in November, while for April-November rough exports rose 10.8 percent to $1.06 million.
In a new category, the GJEPC reported exports of $1.42 million of synthetic stones in November, and of $44.9 million for April to November.
