Indian Polished Diamond Exports Jump 16% in December
January 20, 14And for the first fiscal year so far (April to December), India's polished diamond exports have jumped 27.8 percent to $14.7 billion.
Imports of polished goods dropped 10.7 percent to $380.4 million in December, but surged 41.9 percent higher to $4.76 billion in the April-to-December period.
Meanwhile, rough diamond imports declined by 6.5 percent year on year to $1.65 billion in December, but for the April-December period rose by 12.7 percent to $12.58 billion.
Exports of rough diamonds soared by 31.5 percent to $104.3 million in December, while for April-December rough exports rose 12.4 percent to $1.16 million.
Exports of synthetic stones in December amounted $7.40 million, and of $53.2 million for April to December.
