Fabergé to Hold New York Egg Hunt
January 29, 14 (IDEX Online News) – Famed design house Fabergé will hold “The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt,” in New York to raise money for the Elephant Family and Studio in a School. The initiative follows the success of The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt in London, held in 2012, which set two Guinness World Records and raised more than $1.5 million for charity.

The initiative will see up to 300 giant egg sculptures, each designed by artists, designers, architects and brands including: Tracey Emin, Zaha Hadid, Ronnie Wood, Peter Beard, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marchesa and Bruce Weber, placed throughout the five boroughs of New York City during the Easter period, including at the Fabergé Madison Avenue boutique.
New Yorkers and visitors will be encouraged to find all of the giant eggs. Participants will have the opportunity to win one of three specially designed egg pendants, with a combined value in excess of $125,000, made of gold and diamonds set with either Zambian emeralds, Mozambican rubies or Zambian amethysts. The stones for the necklaces have been donated by ethical gemstone producer Gemfields, which bought Fabergé in 2012.
The hunt will culminate in an auction held by Sotheby’s where the giant egg sculptures will be sold. All proceeds will go to the two charities Elephant Family and Studio in a School.
The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt will be held from April 1-26.
