MML Granted Csarite Trademarks

(IDEX Online News) – Milenyum Mining Limited (MML) has received two trademarks from the US Patent and Trademark Office for csarite, a color-change gem found only in the Anatolia region of Turkey.

US Serial Number 86162962 was issued on July 22 for CSARITE®. US Serial Number 86162943 was issued on August 5, 2014 for CSARITE RARE.NATURAL.EXQUISITE®.

MML said the trademark will give csarite greater consumer recognition and also help distinguish it from synthetics and simulants entering the market.

“With the granting of the name and slogan trademarks, our already transparent supply chain instills even greater confidence for our buyers,” said Murat Akgun, president of MML.

Following the trademark registration and approval, MML said it has increased its efforts to combat theft and illegal mining at the mine site by working closely with Turkish ministries and army to monitor illegal activity, promising immediate legal action when necessary. 

An illegal miner was recently convicted and will face 12 months in prison, along with substantial financial fines.  Some 35 other individuals are being sued and more convictions will follow.
