JFC Donates $25,000 to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

(IDEX Online News) – Following the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal in April, industry charity Jewelers for Children (JFC) has made a $25,000 donation to Save the Children’s Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund.

“While the industry does not do a substantial amount of work in Nepal, the board of directors felt the tragedy affecting so many children was worthy of our support, said Ruth Batson, JFC board chair. “Our generous industry has once again stepped up to help in a crisis where children are involved.”

This is not the first time that Jewelers for Children has donated to a Save the Children cause, having previously sent donations to help alleviate children’s suffering in other disaster-hit areas. These include the Asian tsunami in 2004, the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the Japanese tsunami in 2011 and the recent Ebola crisis.
