Gemfields Partners with Georg Jensen on Ruby and Emerald Collection
June 17, 15(IDEX Online News) – Gemstone miner Gemfields has announced a partnership with Danish design house Georg Jensen on a collection featuring its Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds.
The collection was created by Vivianna Torun, designer of some of Georg Jensen's most iconic jewelry pieces, and includes the Runa Necklaces, the first high-jewelry pieces created by the house that feature a cascade of large emerald gemstones set in gold.
Also included in the collection is a reincarnation of Torun's Dew Drop necklace and matching earrings re-imagined in rose gold with Gemfields Mozambican rubies.
From the Dune collection, Georg Jensen is offering a sculpted bangle and ring crafted in rose gold and accented with Gemfields' rubies.
"It's exciting for Gemfields to continue our spirit of collaboration with a brand like Georg Jensen, which approaches fine jewelry from an innovative design perspective,” said Gemfields CEO Ian Harebottle.
“We especially look forward to seeing our new Mozambican rubies brought to life and hope this partnership will continue to generate awareness for our fair-market colored gemstones."
"We are proud to partner with Gemfields, a brand that is passionately committed to transparency as well as environmental and social responsibility,” said David Chu, CEO of Georg Jensen. “This collection marks a real turning point in the evolution of Georg Jensen.”
The limited-edition collection will be available exclusively at the Georg Jensen flagship boutiques.
The two sides said they would continue their collaboration with the creation of a collection of unique high-end pieces featuring Gemfields' rubies and emeralds of an exceptional size and quality.
