IDI Creates Chinese Language Version to ‘Find Your Diamond’ Platform at HK Show

(IDEX Online News) – The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) is adding a Chinese version of it “Find Your Diamond” search platform at the upcoming Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.

The platform will also be available as a mobile version, as well as at dedicated terminals at the show. The search facility allows byers to see all of the goods offered by the Israeli exhibitors at the show.

The Israel Diamond Pavilion will feature 98 companies, with another 20 businesses exhibiting at other locations throughout the show. The pavilion will be located in Hall 7, 9 and 11 of the Asia World Expo.

Attesting to the importance of the Far East market, the IDI will once again sponsor the show’s opening reception. Hong Kong is Israel’s second-largest market for polished diamonds after the United States, and represents almost 30 percent of Israel’s total polished exports. Net polished diamond exports to Hong Kong totalled $1.9 billion in 2014.

“We are hoping to attract buyers from all over Asia – Hong Kong, China, India and elsewhere,” said IDI managing director Eli Avidar. “This is a slow period in most Asian markets and our experience in previous shows in Hong Kong this year has been mixed. But as you can see from the Israeli participation in this show, we believe in the Asian markets and we are in them for the long haul.”
