Emmys Red Carpet Shimmers with Dazzling Diamonds

September 21, 15 by David Brummer

(IDEX Online News) – The 67th Emmy Primetime Awards, held yesterday (Sunday) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, were proof yet again that the gowns and baubles are just as important as winning any gold statuettes.

The jewels on display were evidence, if any was needed, that in order to offset the perfect dress, there is nothing more important than diamond accessories.

One of the night’s big winners Viola Davis, who won Outstanding Lead Actress for her role as Professor Annalise Keating on How to Get Away With Murder, was also a hit on the red carpet. She paired her white gown by Carmen Marc Valvo, with platinum and diamond chandelier earrings, bracelets and ring by Neil Lane.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who won the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Selina Meyer in Veep, and her sixth overall, looked elegant in a black Safiyaa gown, which she embellished with 28.78 carats of Chopard platinum and diamond earrings.

Kerry Washington was lustrous in a shimmering sheer silver Marc Jacobs dress. She accessorized with platinum ear studs featuring 5.22 carats of round brilliant diamonds, and two rings with a total of 6.84 diamonds set in platinum by Harry Winston.

Mad Men actress Elizabeth Moss paired a new blonde look with an Oscar de la Renta dress. She wore seven stacked vintage Beladora platinum bracelets on one wrist. “I wore seven bracelets for my seven Emmy nominations. And, I love how platinum makes the diamonds sparkle,” she said.

Leny Heady wore a Zuhair Murad garnet wrap front halter gown with plunging neckline and would not have looked out of place in the Game of Thrones series in which she stars. She enhanced her look with platinum and diamond ear studs and a ring, all by Harry Kotlar.

Taraji P. Henson dazzled in all senses of the word. The Drama for Empire actress, who was nominated for a Lead Actress award, wowed in a black Alexander Wang custom dress. However, it was the bling that accompanied it that set tongues wagging. She is rumored to have worn around $1 million worth of Neil Lane jewelry, which equated to around 60 carats, including platinum and diamond drop earrings, ring and bracelet.

Award presenter Gina Rodriguez was resplendent in a Lorena Sarbu gown. Her jewelry wardrobe displayed several pieces from the Forevermark stable. These included, circle earrings with 5.73-carat fancy shaped diamonds set in 18-karat white gold, a bracelet with 4.43 carats of round brilliant diamonds set in 18-karat white gold by A. Link and a “The Center of My Universe” 7.13-carat cushion ring with pink halo set in platinum and 18-karat rose gold.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, wore a daring Galvan jumpsuit, which she accessorized with a 23.62-carat Forevermark Crosssover necklace with pear and oval Forevermark diamonds set in platinum, and 18-karat gold Solitaire Martini stud earrings with round brilliant Forevermark diamonds.

Laura Prepon wore a sumptuous scarlet Christian Siriano gown; a far cry from her usual Orange is the New Black attire. She teamed it with a selection of Forevermark by Rahaminov pieces, including 18-karat gold Dream Drop earrings with 2.08 carats of round brilliant diamonds and a Bypass two-stone ring with round brilliant diamonds set in 18-karat yellow gold. She also wore a Natalie K ring with Marquise Forevermark Diamonds set in 18-karat yellow gold.
