Gem-A Appoints Nick Jones as Interim CEO

(IDEX Online News) – The Council of Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) has appointed Nick Jones as its interim CEO. The post had been vacant for several months following the departure of James Riley after he was suspended in June.
Jones is a Chartered Accountant who spent 12 years at the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) – six years as head of finance, followed by six years as chief executive.
His remit during his tenure at Gem-A is to manage the association and advise the council on the association’s future direction.
Jones said, “I look forward to working with the staff and Council members of such a long-standing and respected organization.”
”Gem-A is on its way to recovery with the appointment of Nick Jones and I am confident that the association is in good hands and will move forward positively,” said Gem-A president Harry Levy.
