WJH Grants Honorary Membership to Panama Commerce Minister
March 31, 16(IDEX Online News) – The World Jewelry Hub (WJH) has announced that it recently conferred honorary membership on Panama’s Minister of Commerce, Augusto Arosemena, as it marked Diplomatic Day in the country.
Arosemena was guest of honor, as ambassadors and other representatives from a host of countries, including India, Israel, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland and Kosovo, met at the WJH’s facility in Panama City’s Santa Maria Business District.
In his address to the gathered governmental representatives, WJH chairman Eli Izhakoff paid tribute to the Panamanian government for its continued support of the jewelry industry organization.
"The decision to establish a jewelry, diamond and gemstone trading center here in Panama was deliberate, for the country is not only ideally positioned geographically, but it also is able to provide the commercial, fiscal and logistical facilities that are critical to our becoming the bridge between Latin America and the global trades," he said.
Izhakoff added that not only had the government created a world-class business infrastructure, it had also established a regulatory framework that ensures transparency and the integrity of trade.
