Kennady Diamonds Appoints New President/CEO
April 11, 16(IDEX Online News) – Canadian diamond exploration company Kennady Diamonds Inc. has announced the appointment of Dr. Rory Moore to the positions of president, CEO and director of the company, effective from May 1. Moore succeeds Patrick Evans, who has served as president and CEO at Kennady since its incorporation in 2012.
Moore is an industry veteran with more than 30 year experience. He has a PhD in Geochemistry from the University of Cape Town and is a registered geoscientist in the Province of British Columbia. Moore has served as CEO of the Mineral Services Group of Companies, president and CEO of Canabrava Diamond Corp. and manager of diamond exploration for BHP Minerals.
Chairman of Kennady Diamonds Jonathan Comerford said that the appointment of a new president and CEO was another step in the process of the company separating its governance from former parent company Mountain Province Diamonds.
Comerford added a note of thanks to outgoing president and CEO Evans, whom he said had assembled a team at Kennady to resume exploration at the Kelvin-Faraday corridor. “The methodical advancement of the project has brought Kennady to an advanced stage now requiring the time and attention of a dedicated CEO. We wish Patrick the very best as he continues as president and CEO of Mountain Province Diamonds," he said.
Kennady Diamonds Inc. controls 100 percent of the Kennady North diamond project located in Canada's Northwest Territories immediately adjacent to the Gahcho Kué diamond mine currently under development by De Beers and Mountain Province Diamonds.
