CIBJO Educational Arm Launches Online Jewelry Course
April 21, 16(IDEX Online News) – World Jewelry Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF), the education arm of the World Jewelry Confederation (CIBJO) has announced the launch of an online course for jewelry professionals.
The six-lesson course on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for jewelry, diamond, colored gemstone, pearls, coral and precious metals professionals has been launched in association with Branded Trust Education of Australia. It was developed by world-recognized experts specifically for the jewelry, gemstone and precious metals industries – along its entire supply chain.
The six lessons, which are accessed from a dedicated website include, “Practical Definitions of CSR,” “Major CSR Issues Affecting the Jewelry Industry,” “The Business Care for CSR,” “Tools and Approaches for Implementing CSR,” “Making ‘Green’ Claims and Consumer Protection Law” and “Professional CSR Accreditation.”
At the conclusion of each lesson students will be given a test to gauge his or her understanding of key terms and concepts, with students required to submit an essay at the end of the course. Students will be required to score more than 60 percent in their total assessment to be awarded the WJCEF Certificate of Recognition.
The course is initially being offered only in English and will cost $300 per student.
