HRD Antwerp Opens New Hong Kong Office

(IDEX Online News) – Diamond certification company HRD Antwerp has announced the inauguration of its new Hong Kong offices, following relocation from its previous premises. The opening was attended by Belgian and Indian government officials, as well as Hong Kong Indian Diamond Association (HKIDA) management team and leading diamond and jewelry companies.

The company’s office is located in the same premises as the HKIDA with which it recently signed a MoU, regarding the screening of melee diamonds.

HRD Antwerp CEO Peter Macken said that the move was part of the company’s attempts to strengthen its local presence.

“As HKIDA’s aim is to safeguard consumer confidence throughout the diamond industry while protecting the natural diamond trade, the service agreement concerning the use of the M-Screen is a great step forward in offering our members the tool they need to make absolutely sure their melee diamond parcels are free of lab-grown diamonds,” said HKIDA president Ramesh Virani.
