JVC to Commence Live Webinar Series
May 10, 16(IDEX Online News) – The Jewelers Vigilance Committee has announced that it will run a live webinar series, designed to help members of the jewelry industry avoid legal risk and implement compliant business practices.
The first webinar will take place on June 16 and will explain the Federal Trade Commission Guidelines to Advertising in the Jewelry Industry. It will focus on providing guidance to marketers about how to sell their products without deception. It is a two-part series, the second of which in on September 21. The first part of the series will review the essential role of the FTC Guides in the industry, and how it is not just retailers who have to comply with them. The second part will focus on recommended revisions to the FTC Guides, specifically on the precious metals, diamonds, and colored gemstone sectors.
The third webinar will focus on employment law and provide an update on an employer or employees role, and how to avoid messy lawsuits. Also up for discussion will be ensuring that the workplace is compliant with rules and regulations, and employees are being treated in line with the latest legal requirements.
The fourth and final webinar will be an Anti-Money Laundering refresher and will focus on the need for companies to demonstrate their compliance with the US Patriot Act.
Each webinar is free to members and will cost $25 (per webinar) for non-members.
