IGI to Operate Jewelry Inscription Service
May 26, 16(IDEX Online News) – The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has announced the launch of a jewelry inscription service, PhotoScribe, and that it will operate solely from within the Institute’s New York laboratory.
The PhotoScribe laser inscription service specializes in laser engraving and provides customer with high-definition, high-resolution engraving of jewelry items. PhotoScribe’s move will augment the existing IGI in-house inscription services, which include 3D diamond and jewelry imaging.
“IGI consistently evaluates opportunities to empower jewelry buyers with knowledge and confidence, and strives to deliver added benefits for consumers,” said IGI president Jerry Ehrenwald, G.G., A.S.A. “We believe the operational move of PhotoScribe to IGI’s New York lab will further enhance our state-of-the-art offerings.”
IGI was founded in Antwerp in 1975 and is an independent gemological laboratory and appraisal institute with more than a dozen offices worldwide.
