Diamond-Set Coronet Guitar to Highlight at BrilliANT Trade Fair
January 18, 17(IDEX Online) – A highlight of the upcoming eighth edition of BrilliANT, the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair, will be Aaron Shum's 'Eden of Coronet', a Gibson Guitar set with more than 400 carats of Coronet® diamonds set in approximately 1.6 kg of 18K white gold. The masterpiece was awarded a Guinness World Records title for the Most Valuable Guitar in 2015 and has been valued at $2 million.
One of Aaron Shum Jewelry's flagship diamond products is the Coronet Solitaire ring. In the Coronet Solitaire design, seven diamonds of 30 points create the look of a much larger single stone, but with their 399 facets, the Coronet Solitaire reaches optimum radiance, at approximately one tenth of the retail price of a solitaire one-carat diamond ring, the ADTF said in a statement.
Since its debut at Baselword 2015, the Eden of Coronet, featuring the motifs of Coronet-flora and a variety of nature-inspired themes, has been exhibited - and played - at numerous, leading international jewelry fairs and exhibitions in Hong Kong, China and elsewhere.
The guitar was crafted by 62 artisans, three product development specialists, and two project managers. Chow Tai Fook, the world's largest retail jeweler sponsored the production of the guitar, providing high-quality diamonds. The Gibson Guitar company also was a sponsor. The diamond-studded guitar is adorned with a whopping 11,441 pieces of diamond (401.15 carats).
"The Coronet Gibson Guitar will surely be a centre piece at our upcoming fair," said Michel Nasielski, a member of the BrilliAnt-ADTF Organising Committee. "It promises to draw a lot of attention, from the fair's visitors, exhibitors and the media alike. We are honored to be hosting Mr. Shum, his team and this masterpiece at BrillAnt this year."
The ADTF is a joint initiative of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse, the Diamond Club of Antwerp and the Antwerp Diamond Kring, and is powered by the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC).
