Firms Report Slight Increase in Business at IIJS Fair in Mumbai

February 09, 17 by Albert Robinson

(IDEX Online) – The Signature India International Jewellery Show ended on Thursday, with companies reporting a slight rise in business activity.

The Indian diamond and jewelry business has been hit hard by demonetization, but appears to be recovering from the shock, said one diamond trader.

One diamond company executive said that most business was being done by gold jewelry firms.

The show, which began on Monday, was relatively quiet today (Thursday).

"We have seen a lot of foot traffic and we have been pleased with the results. It seems the situation is improving," said Swapnil Rach of GemAtlas.
