DDC Members 'Positive' Following GJEPC India Show
November 13, 17(IDEX Online) – In an effort to expand business opportunities for diamond dealers around the world, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) invited DDC members, as well as members from other centers, to attend the India Diamond Week in Mumbai.
"The show was focused on and organized and designed for dealers to meet new suppliers," the DDC said in a statement. "With one-on-one appointments, the GJEPC did an excellent job of introducing buyers to manufacturers who carry goods specific to the buyers’ needs. Companies left with a positive feeling and contacts in hand whom they can now deal with directly on a regular basis.
Many DDC members reported that the show was successful and well run, the DDC added.
“I felt it was a very successful week, especially for those people coming to India for the first time,” said DDC President, Reuven Kaufman. “It gave people a chance to meet with top manufacturers in India for half-hour, uninterrupted meetings, where they were able to understand each other’s business needs.”
Benjamin Krischer, of Esskay Gems, said the show was, “successful in building business relationships.”
Overall the GJEPC fulfilled their goals of creating a personalized and private experience for buyers. Kaufman reports that “many transactions took place and it paved the way for DDC members in the future to be able to have a more personal relationship with the manufactures.”
The GJEPC worked diligently to make sure that the show would be well received, he said. "This strengthens our already strong relationship with the GJEPC and we hope that in January we can host our regular GJEPC and DDC India Diamond Week in our new diamond bourse.”
