Pandora Launches Lab Grown Range with Recycled Gold and Silver
August 16, 22(IDEX Online) - Pandora today announced the launch of a lab grown diamond collection in the US and Canada, following its announcement last May that it would no longer use mined gems.
The Danish jewelry giant also says the 33-item collection, branded as Pandora Brilliance is its first using 100 per cent recycled silver and gold.
Pandora, the world's largest jewelry brand, with 6,800 points of sale, has committed to make all its jewelry from recycled silver and gold by 2025.
The company prompted an angry response from industry leaders with its claim that lab-grown diamonds are ethically preferable to mined gems.
It was accused of creating a "false and misleading narrative" in an open letter signed by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the World Diamond Council (WDC), CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, the Natural Diamond Council (NDC) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA).
The new collection includes rings, bangles, necklaces and earrings, each featuring a solitary, VS+ clarity lab-created diamond, will be available from 25 August. Prices start at $300.
