Karelian Plans Further Exploration in Finland

(IDEX Online) - Karelian Diamond Resources hopes to extend its exploration program in Finland for a further year.
The Ireland-based diamond exploration company identified a green diamond in the Kuhmo region (in eastern Finland), in 2022, and has identified anomalies that could indicate a kimberlite source for them.
"The year ahead promises to be an exciting one for the company with several aspects to the company's portfolio capable of progressing rapidly," said Karelian chair Brendan McMorrow after the company applied for an extension of the Kuhmo 1 exploration permit.
Karelian is also exploring at the Lahtojoki diamond deposit, in the Kuopio-Kaavi region, in eastern Finland, where it has recovered a significant percentage of pink diamonds.
"The diamond mine at Lahtojoki, when in production, is expected to be the first diamond mine in the European Union," the company said previously in a statement.
