Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association Honors Industry Figures

(IDEX Online) – The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association, New York, hosted its grand gala event during the AGTA Tucson Gem Show on February 2 at the Marriott University Park Hotel.
IDCA President Ashok Sancheti opened the evening with a welcome address.
Gemfields, PLC, was honored with the prestigious “Excellence in Colorstone – Mining to Marketing" Award. Accepting the award, Gemfields' CEO Ian Harebottle said it was a great honor for the firm to be presented with the award because it reflected the core policy of Gemfields – not just mining gemstones but marketing them as well.
The IDCA presented the “Industry Leadership Award” to ICA President Benjamin Hackman for his contribution to the colored stone industry.
The evening ended with a keynote presentation by Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, Deputy Director, Mumbai University, an expert on the philosophy of Chanakya, a 4th century philosopher, economist and king maker.
