IDL Appoints India & Middle East GM

The International Diamond Laboratories (IDL) appointed Samit Bhatta as general manager India & Middle East. Bhatta served as sales and marketing manager of DTC India and general manager sales and marketing at jewelry retailer Damas.
”IDL is going to be retail oriented,” said IDL CEO Peter Meeus, adding that Bhatta’s experience will be of great significance in achieving that goal.
Bhatta will lead IDL’s efforts into the world’s third and fourth largest diamond markets, which are seeing strong economic growth and a rapidly developing middle class.
IDL will start issuing certificates in September through its offices in Antwerp, Dubai and Mumbai.
