Sotheby’s Auctions 91 Carat Diamond Necklace for $5.4 Million
April 13, 08At Sotheby’s recent Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite auction in Hong Kong, the auction house sold a 91.02 carat diamond platinum-mounted diamond necklace for HK$42,327,500 (US$5.434 million). The necklace contains 43 diamonds, ranging from 0.56 to 6.51 carats, all D / internally flawless.
An additional item of note in the sale included a fancy intense pink diamond, yellow diamond and diamond ring, containing a 4.45 carat pink diamond, within a tiered border of brilliant cut diamonds accented with yellow diamonds together weighing approximately 2.5 carats, mounted in 18 karat white and yellow gold, which sold for HK$15.67 million ($2.01 million).
Also sold was a fancy vivid yellow diamond and diamond ring, comprised of a 13.11 carat pear shaped fancy vivid yellow diamond, flanked by two pear shaped D color diamonds together weighing 1.47 carats, mounted in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold. It sold for HK$12.42 million ($1.6 million). All three of the diamonds were internally flawless.
