Forevermark Diamond Grading Laboratories Open
July 28, 08De Beers' marketing company Forevermark announced Monday that it has opened two Forevermark diamond grading laboratories. These labs - in Antwerp, Belgium and Maidenhead, UK - will grade only diamonds which have been exclusively selected by Forevermark.
Forevermark diamonds will be optionally graded at the same time that they are inscribed with an icon and unique identification number, the company said in a release, saying this will help reduce time across the diamond pipeline and therefore provide business benefits to Forevermark business partners, as well as consumers.
CEO Francois Delage said he believes that by offering diamantaires the opportunity to have their Forevermark diamond accompanied by a Forevermark grading report, “we are meeting the needs of consumers, jewelers and diamantaires.”
The company also announced the launch of the new website (forevermark.com/diamantaires) that provides Forevermark diamantaires an easy facility for tracking the progress of their diamonds throughout the inscribing and grading process.
The Forevermark brand, first introduced in Hong Kong in 2004, is a program that includes diamonds which are 0.18 carats and bigger in size, SI2 / J and better with at least good quality cuts that meet Forevermark standards, mostly ethical ones.
The diamonds are inscribed with the Forevermark logo on the table facet with an identification number that can be seen with a special Forevermark viewer. It is a Sightholders only program, however the company plans to offer the program directly to retailers, which in turn will select a supplier that does not have to be a DTC Sightholder.
