Rise in Metals Prices Continues Unabated

Precious metals prices continue to rise due to the dollar’s decline against the euro and high oil prices. Gold again increased to a record high on Wednesday, reaching $882.50 per ounce before closing at 871.60.
The price of gold has risen 43 percent in a year when it stood at $609.60 on
Platinum also saw a high of $1,557 per ounce and closed at $1,550. The price of platinum has jumped 38 percent in the past year from its January 9 position at $1,123 and 6 percent from December 10, when it stood at $1,463.
