Websites Upgrade to Better Serve Users
December 09, 10(IDEX Online News) - In a bid to improve accessibility, two gem firms have updated their websites. The American Gem Society (AGS) simplified navigation to make it easier to find AGS retailers, while IGI added a Chinese version to its site.
The AGS relaunched americangemsociety.org on Wednesday. It also has a member site that allows retailers to quickly find an AGS Supplier and includes popular AGS marketing material and vital educational information.
Retail members can log into the site and access handy information, download marketing and educational materials, register to the Conclave or connect to AGS Laboratories.
As China has become the second largest market for diamonds, the International Gemological Institute (IGI) felt it was vital to ensure information was available to Chinese industry members in their native language.
Visitors to the website, igiworldwide.com, will be able to access myriad educational offerings through IGI’s school of gemology, as well as opportunities to register for courses online.
IGI also wanted to ensure the large Chinese communities in the U.S., Canada and around the world could access the “Everything You Always Wanted to Know” section of the site, which includes comprehensive educational pages on the importance of certification, the 4Cs, buying with confidence, jewelry care tips and a glossary of common fine jewelry terms, among others.
