Overseas Diamonds Puts Fire into Isee2 Device

DTC Sightholder Overseas Diamonds said today (Wednesday) it will display the next generation of its Isee2 Diamond Beauty Evaluator to include "fire" at the JCK show in Las Vegas which starts on Friday.
The Isee2 is a device that measures the symmetry, brilliance and scintillation of Ideal Cut diamonds and is a retail selling aid that allows buyers to measure the beauty of a diamond.
The Isee2 will feature the fire parameter since both the AGS and GIA are to include “fire” as a partial component of their different performance parameters on their new certificates scheduled to come out before the end of the year.
“This development further emphasizes Isee2’s role as the sole provider to the consumer of assessable parameters instead of blind printed numbers on a document”, said Dave Lapa, CEO of Overseas Diamonds.
Isee2 has measured brilliance, scintillation and symmetry, but the fire aspect, although to some extent present in scintillation, was never emphasized or explicitly shown. By innovating the light source design, Isee2 can now reveal and assess the fire of a diamond.
