Alrosa’s 9th Rough Diamond Auction $23.66 Million
July 31, 05Alrosa’s ninth international auction officially ended Thursday when it notified the winning bids for its rough diamond boxes. The miner offered over 12,800 carats of rough that sold for total $23.66 million.
The auction, held with the Diamond Chamber of Russia, opened on June 27 and included 10 exceptionally large diamonds weighing over 50 carats. The largest diamond available for sale weighed 121.96 carats.
Altogether 104 boxes holding 749 diamonds were offered.
Two more international auctions for 10.8+ carat rough diamonds are scheduled before the end of the year. The preview of the diamonds for the next auction will begin later this month on the 22nd. The winners will be announced on September 22.
