India Polished Diamond Exports Slightly Lower in January
February 19, 14In the April to January tax year so far, polished exports have risen 21.1 percent to almost $16 billion.
In imports of polished goods, there was a 14.5-percent drop to $512.2 million in January, but imports were up 33.2 percent to $5.27 billion in April to December.
As for rough diamond imports, they jumped by 27.4 percent on the year to $1.26 billion in January, and in the April-January period they rose by 13.8 percent to $13.84 billion.
Exports of rough diamonds slumped by 28.3 percent to $124.3 million in January, while for April-January rough exports increased by 6.5 percent to $1.29 billion.
Exports of synthetic stones in January were $8.64 million, and $61.0 million in April to January.
