New Prospecting Licences Available in Orapa

(IDEX Online News) – The Botswana government, through the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources and the Department of Mines, is granting new prospecting licences in the Orapa Kimberlite Field, according to media reports.
The field contains some of the most well-known diamond mines in Botswana such as Debswana, Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa.
Several companies, including Botswana Diamonds (which has an extensive partnership with Alrosa and which last week announced that geological work had shown encouraging signs of the presence of a kimberlite in Orapa), Pangolin, Firestone and others are also engaged in exploration and prospecting within the field.
