IDEX Online Polished Price Changes – September 24, 2015

(IDEX Online News) – There was a lot of negative price movement in round diamonds this week. Those sized between 0.3-0.9 carats saw the most price shifts, especially in the middle to better clarities. Goods above 0.9 carats in size experienced relatively few changes, with only diamonds of 2-299 and 5 carats and above seeing positive changes and even this was just in a few isolated categories.

There continues to be far less price movement in fancies and the price changes are almost all positive. Most of the changes took place in the medium to better clarities.

Following are some of the main changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report.

• 0.30-0.39 cts many changes including  D-K / SI1-2 down 2-3.5%

• 0.45-0.49 cts negative changes including J / VS2+ down 2-3%
  
• 0.50-0.69 cts downward price movement of 2-4% in goods L+ / SI2+  
  
• 0.70-0.79 cts negative changes including F-J / SI2 down 3-4%
  
• 0.80-0.89 cts plenty of negative changes including F / VVS2-VS1 down 2-3%
  
• 0.90-0.99 cts D / VVS2 down 3% and H / SI2 down 2%    
    
• 1.00-1.24 cts G-I / SI2 down 3-4%
  
• 1.25-1.49 cts D / IF down 3%
  
• 1.50-1.99 cts L-N / SI2 down 2-3%
  
• 2 cts a few positive changes including I-J / IF down 3% and L-M / I1 down 3-4%
  
• 3 cts F / VS2 down 3%
  
• 4 cts L / VS2 down 3%
  
• 5 cts E-G / VS1 up 3%
