(IDEX Online News) – The price of round diamonds continued to drop again this week, although there was less movement overall than in recent weeks. The only real upward movement took place for goods sized 0.9-0.99 carats.

 

While price shifts for fancy goods have been broadly positive, this week saw more negative movement. This was especially the case when it came to goods sized above 1 carat, with items sized 5-5.99 carats seeing many negative changes.

·         0.18-0.22 cts G-I / VS2 and F-G / SI1 -4.5%

 

·         0.23-0.29 no change

 

·         0.30-0.39 cts changes including D-E/ SI1-SI3 -2-3% and J / VS1-SI3 -3-4%

 

·         0.40-0.44 cts a few changes including D / SI1 -4% and J / VS2-SI2 -3%

 

·         0.45-0.49 cts D / SI3-I3 +2-4% and I / SI1-SI3 -2-3%

 

·         0.50-0.69 cts E-G / SI3 -2% and M / SI3-I1 -4-5%

 

·         0.70-0.79 cts J / SI2 -2%, K / VVS2 -4% and M / VVS1 -2%

 

·         0.80-0.89 cts H and K / VVS1 -2% and G-H / I3 -4-4.5%

·         1.50-1.99 cts changes including G and K-L / IF -2-3.5% and L-N / I1 -3.5-4.5%

 

·         2 cts changes including E-F / IF -2% and M / VS2-SI2 -2-4%

·         3 cts changes including H / VVS2+ -0.5-3% and L-M / SI1 -1-3%

 

·         4 cts a few changes including F-G / SI2 -2-3%
