IDE Makes Former President Yair Sahar Honorary President
December 29, 15(IDEX Online News) – Former Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) president Yair Sahar has been given the title of honorary president in recognition of his contribution to the exchange’s development. Shahar served a two-year presidential term between 2011 and 2013.
“It is our pleasure to bestow upon you the title of honorary president, and for you to join Avi Paz and myself as the third former IDE president in receiving this honor,” said outgoing IDE president Shmuel Schnitzer during a ceremony that took place at the exchanges AGM.
“I am confident that with a new president taking up the reigns of our exchange, we will be available to offer him our counsel and advice. I congratulate you, Yair, on behalf of the board and the membership and may you go from strength to strength."
Newly elected IDE president Yoram Dvash said it was crucial that past leaders of the IDE continue to contribute to the well-being and growth of the Israeli diamond industry and trade.
“In these challenging times for our industry, we need the advice and insights of the captains who have run our ship in the past and have negotiated the rough seas that we continue to experience also today.”
